Less than 1 week away from Christmas Day!  Many of us are in the throes of baking our hearts out with all those amazing Holiday Treats.  Why not make them just a tad more tasty and healthy for us by using essential oils!  Here is a collection of Recipes I have gathered from friends Gina Truman, Angela Ahn and some slightly original recipes cooked up by simple little ME!

ENJOY!

On Guard Popcorn

1. Air pop 1 cup of uncooked kernals

2. Melt 1/4 cup of butter, 1/4 of 100% pure maple syrup, mix.

3. Add 5-6 drops of On Guard and 2-3 drops of Cinnamon Bark Essential Oils.

4. Pour over popcorn and sprinkle with salt and cinnamon spice.

Optional – add nuts, Chex cereal and other goodies to the mix to make a wonderful Holiday Grub!

Peppermint Brownies

1. Follow directions on brownie mix package or from scratch recipe.

2.  Before pouring mix into baking pan, stir in 8 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil.

3.  Pour mix into pan and bake according to recipe.

NOTE: The therapeutic qualities of the oil will cook out from the heat, but the recipe will retain the natural flavor or the Peppermint Essential Oil.

OPTIONAL:  To maintain the complete therapeutic benefit of the Peppermint, don’t put the oil in the baking mix, but include it in the chocolate frosting, if so inclined.

Herb Cheese Ball

1.  In a large bowl, mix together 2 8oz packages of cream cheese, 3 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, and 1 tsp worchestire sauce.

2.  Add a toothpick dip of thyme, rosemary or basil essential oils and stir with toothpick into the cheese.

3.  Form into a ball and roll in 2 cups chopped pecans and parsley or chives to coat surface.

4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
